City of Wolverhampton Council's NQTs
Welcome to the City of Wolverhampton Council's NQT Services. These pages are for all NQTs, their Mentors and Headteachers. The Local Authority recognise the importance of this coming year for every one of our Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs). The City of Wolverhampton have enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship with their NQTs and schools; working collaboratively to offer a personalised programme of development, support and professional dialogue that focuses on helping new teachers to acquire the skills necessary to be an effective and successful teacher. As an Appropriate Body (AB) we have responsibility to monitor their progress and offer appropriate support. Should you have any concerns about your NQT it is vital that you contact us quickly, so that we can work with you to construct and implement a development plan and monitor further progress. The support offered to schools who appoint us as their AB during the induction period includes: - NQT registration;- regular NQT newsletters;- half termly NQT networks;- NQT support visits (when required); - the opportunity to access a wide range of CPD events and training to support the development of NQTs and their Induction Tutors. If we are not appointed as your AB you can still access any of the training that is offered in the programme and/or access a support only package, if your NQT is experiencing difficulties in meeting the standard. The prices of training only packages are outlined in the SLA brochure. All appointment and assessment forms are provided below.
